Former Bishop Auckland Mayor Michael Siddle, a lifelong town resident, wants to represent you on Durham County Council. As Town Mayor 2022/2023, Michael led the celebration of her late Majesty’s Jubilee, and the sad mourning of her death, while seeking to boost the Council’s profile.

Michael has a Masters Degrees in Technology Management and Supply Chain Logistics. He worked for a local company for 35 years and was European Supply Chain Manager. An active Trustee of the Wear Rivers Trust, Michael says “the environment is close to my heart. I believe in local people having a bigger voice in what happens to them and to our communities. It is important we have passionate local people to represent you who can bring communities together. I listen to as many of you as possible to share your vision for Bishop Auckland. If elected, it would be a great honour to continue to serve you at county level as I have done on the town council.” Michael enjoys hiking and watching “The Bishops”. A Trustee of Durham Amateur Football Trust, he is proud of our rich heritage of non-league football.
