Born and raised in Bishop Auckland, I attended Bishop Barrington School before serving a toolmaking apprenticeship.

In 2003, I set up Teescraft Engineering with three employees. We now employ 230 with our own cast iron, aluminium and steel foundries and four machining sites in the region. Based in Bishop Auckland, Teescraft was named a Top 50 Growing North East Businesses for the last two years.

I joined Labour and first represented Escomb and Witton Park on Wear Valley District Council. After 2008’s local government reorganisation, I stood for West Auckland Division, representing the ward ever since.

The new West Auckland, St Helen Auckland and Toft Hill seat is a two-councillor ward, and you’ll have two votes. Elections offer a chance to shape the future of your community, and I hope to earn your vote with my record of prioritising residents, championing our area and securing a fair share of funding.

I listen carefully, act decisively, and stay accountable. I aim to resolve issues quickly, and whether improving education, supporting employment or strengthening services, I’m here to make a difference.
