Tessa Hope for Bishop Auckland
County Councillor Candidate for Bishop Auckland

I am incredibly proud to have been selected as a candidate for Durham County Council representing the Bishop Auckland ward. Born and raised here, I have always lived, studied, and worked in our town. I am eager to represent Bishop Auckland at the County Council level.
Having grown up in the heart of this ward, I have witnessed firsthand the effects of austerity and cuts to public services. This must change. I am determined to raise important issues at the council level and strive to achieve all that is possible for our community, which has so much to offer.
Our town faces many challenges. Anti-social behaviour and crime are significant concerns, and our High Street needs regeneration. I want to see local businesses thrive and for all of us to be proud of where we live. Improving local transport links and health service provision are also priorities. These are just a few of the concerns I hear from residents and experience personally. Making impactful changes would make a difference to the lives of all of us.
I want to see Durham County Council operate effectively, working with our Labour MP, Mayor and Police and Crime Commissioner and national government to bring real change.
I pledge to be out knocking on doors, speaking in person, on call, email, and be contactable. It is so important to me that a councillor is a familiar face that you feel comfortable contacting and knowing they will try their best. This is something I commit to. I will commit to the responsibility of the role and work to the benefit of all in Bishop Auckland and the wider area. I will do all I can to advocate for you.
I will work closely with fellow councillors to maximize our impact. I champion supportive, constructive politics where we can achieve all we can for residents and see investment and regeneration. I am keen, willing, and motivated, and hope you can trust in me to be your representative.
It would be an honour to be elected as your representative and County Councillor for Bishop Auckland, and I hope to have your support.
