I loved spending time with these amazing young people at Wolsingham School who are studying politics and classics in their spare time!

I was so impressed by the maturity and thoughtfulness of their comments and questions, which included issues like: what shaped my political values; integrity in politics; Labour’s plans to pay for driving up standards in state schools by charging VAT on private school fees; Climate Change and Net Zero; freedom to roam; whether there should be limits to free speech; LGBT Rights; the role of social media in young people’s mental health; refugees and asylum seekers; whether 16 year olds should be allowed to vote; and what I would advise my teenage self!

It’s wonderful to see young people so well informed and concerned about the world. I’m sure their parents and the school must be very proud of them.
