Great news that the government has given the go ahead for the A66 trunk road to be dualled along its complete length between Scotch Corner and Penrith (Northern Echo today). Also long overdue, the much needed Barnard Castle relief road with a new bridge over the Tees is in the long-term plan of North East Mayor Kim McGuinness. I again urge her to bring forward this essential link to keep heavy traffic out of the town centre.
