Bishop Auckland Constituency Labour Party Taking Pride in Our Communities
Every town should have its own designated police officer, and now Barnard Castle has one. Following my request, PC Chris Elms has been appointed as the town’s named police officer. I am Barnard Castle’s first individual county councillor, and I have met with PC Elms and Joy Allen, Durham’s Police and Crime Commissioner, plus PCSO Preet Singh and PC Robert Booth. The officers including PC Elms are all members of the team that polices Barnard Castle, Teesdale, Weardale, Crook and Willington, covering 150 square miles. All the more reason why we need one individual with special responsibilities for Barney!
